ABC World News Tonight w/ Charlie Gibson honored them with Person(s) of the Year. Men’s Health Magazine described them as “ The Healers” and named them as one of the 20 heroes of Health and Fitness along with Barrack Obama, Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong. They have been invited to the White House and meet with President Bush. These titles and the other numerous honors and awards they have amassed since their first mission can only be described as simply amazing. But, the selfless act of humanitarianism, navigating through poppy fields in Taliban territories of Afghanistan, jumping over land mines and avoiding crossfire of guerrilla warfare, earning the trust of Afghan warlords to insure their safety can only be described as Men’s Health Magazine stated, “ …any Hollywood screenwriter would reject the scene as implausible”. In fact, although most of the details of their 3 tours have not been disclosed or made public, some can argue that the current strategy in Afghanistan today may have been adopted from the results of their successful mission.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – ALL SHORES – Dr. Vance J. Moss, since August 1, an urologist at Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, is all about breaking barriers and stereotypes.
He’s not alone. So is his identical twin brother, Dr. Vince Moss, a cardiothoracic surgeon in New Jersey.
They’re not only physicians. They’re Eagle Scouts, members of the first African-American fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha, and, perhaps most proudly, veterans of the U.S. Army, who have each served three war-time tours in support of troops in the Middle East – in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
